Amante del b&n, Baltasar López (Balta para los amigos) nos cuenta lo que ha significado para él la fotografía.

1. ¿Qué significa IG para ti? || What does it mean for you Instagram?

IG ha sido para mi una gran ventana al mundo, en la cual poder mostrar mis fotografías y sobre todo disfrutar de los trabajos de muchísimas personas con un nivel y calidad altísimos.
En junio de 2011 un diario de tirada nacional convocó un concurso a través de IG con el tag #tuneatufoto me gustó la idea y comencé a subir fotos para el concurso. Eran fotografías tomadas con mi cámara reflex y descargadas al móvil sólo para el concurso. El hecho de quedar segundo en aquel concurso me hizo explorar más y más IG y engancharme a él.

IG has been for me a great window to the world in which to display my photos and especially enjoy the work of many people with very high quality level.
In June 2011 a national newspaper held a competition through IG with tag # tuneatufoto I liked the idea and started to upload photos for the contest. Photographs were taken with my SLR camera and downloaded to the mobile just for the contest. The fact finishing second in that contest made ​​me explore more and more GI and hooked to it.

2. ¿Cómo ves el proceso de evolución de esta aplicación, la reciente introducción de ideas en esta última…? || How do you see the evolution process of this application, the recent introduction of ideas in the latter …?

Viví el controvertido cambio de derechos sobre las fotografías con cierto temor, en ese momento mucha gente cerró sus cuentas y emigró hacia EyeEm (yo me lo pensé). Está claro que el nuevo propietario (Facebook) querrá sacarle partido y beneficio a IG y tarde o temprano habrán cambios. Por ejemplo el video, yo me quedo con las fotos.

I lived the controversial change of rights in photographs with some trepidation, at that time many people closed their accounts and migrated to EyeEm (what I thought). 3. ¿Qué significa en sí la fotografía móvil para ti?|| What does it mean for you the mobile photography?

Mi primera cámara la compré con 14 años, he hecho fotografía en color, blanco y negro, diapositiva, he revelado mis propias fotografías, para pasar al digital y ahora el móvil, creo que es una evolución que hay que tomarla con naturalidad. Para mi es un nuevo instrumento para plasmar el mismo tipo de fotografía que he hecho siempre, con la ventaja de no llevar encima un gran equipo (10-15Kg) una calidad muy buena que permite hacer copias en papel a unos tamaños muy decentes.

4. ¿Cuanto supiste que esto iba a ser algo importante para tu día a día? ||How did you know this was going to be something important for your day to day?…

Yo había participado en varias exposiciones colectivas, he hecho expos individuales y ganado premios de cierto renombre, pero cuando llegaba a las inauguraciones y veía la escasa afluencia de público, sabía que esas copias acabarían en el cajón.
Las redes sociales de fotografía como IG, EyeEm… han posibilitado que cualquier persona en el mundo pueda ver tu trabajo, comentarte las fotos…, como dije antes es un escaparate con un potencial inmenso y junto con la inmediatez como bien dice mi buen amigo Gabriel (@kainxs) es lo que me ha hecho volcarme en la fotografía móvil.

5. ¿Qué aplicación y procesos de edición usas habitualmente? || What application and editing processes you usually use?

No me gustan las ediciones excesivas y muy retocadas, quizás porque estuve un año trabajando con un fotógrafo profesional, dedicándome en exclusiva al retoque con photoshop.
Soy un enamorado de Hipstamatic y sobre todo de las configuraciones en bw y algunas en color que me ha descubierto, otro gran fotógrafo móvil J.A. Consentino (@murcielaguillo).
Básicamente uso Snapseed para ajustar niveles de brillo, contraste, así como los ángulos con el straighten.
Suelo utilizar mucho Noir por su sencillez y calidad para pasar a blanco y negro.

I do not like very retouched over issues, perhaps because I spent a year working with a professional photographer, devoting myself exclusively to retouch photoshop.
I am a lover of Hipstamatic and especially the settings in bw and some in color I have discovered another great photographer mobile JA Consentino (@ murcielaguillo).
Basically use Snapseed to adjust levels of brightness, contrast and angles to straighten.
I usually use lot Noir for its simplicity and quality to go to black and white.

6. ¿Crees qué Eyeem se va a convertir en una aplicación de fotografía móvil importante como ha podido llegar a ser el instagram? || Do you think EyeEm is going to turn into a mobile photo application important as it has become instagram?

Yo espero que si, me gusta mucho entre otras cosas porque el nivel de spam es infinitamente menor que en IG y sobretodo porque te permite subir fotos con cualquier formato sin obligarte al formato cuadrado como ocurre con IG.

8. ¿Cómo te ves dentro de unos años dentro de este hábito? || How do you see yourself in a few years into this habit?

Espero seguir aprendiendo y sobre todo disfrutando de la fotografía.
Me gustaría poder conocer en persona a toda esa gente que se han detenido en alguna de mis fotos y me han dicho, me ha hecho reír, llorar, me ha transmitido, ese será mi premio para el futuro.

9. Tu truco a la hora de capturar un momento. || Your trick when capturing a moment.

Intento evitar las horas centrales del día, prefiero la luz más cálida del amanecer y del atardecer.
Para las fotografías en la calle paso varios días buscando localizaciones y cuando las encuentro a esperar el momento que quiero fotografiar.
Me estaba acordando de una pared que encontré con un graffiti que dice: Parece que va a llover.
Esta en una calle por la que pasa muy poca gente y el primer día que se puso a llover (que aquí llueve poco) me aposté enfrente hasta que tras dos horas, paso un joven con su paraguas.

I try to avoid the middle of the day, I prefer the warmer light of sunrise and sunset.
For photographs on the street spent several days scouting locations and when I find the time to wait I want to photograph.
I was remembering a wall across a graffiti reading: Looks like rain.
